Nytdain 12, Flaurmont (Mid Spring)

The Keep on the Borderlands

Arrive Castellan Keep, Atlan Tepes Mountains, in the far northeast of the Grand Duchy of Karameikos.

Castellan Keep is held by the Castellan Guard Battalion, known as the “The Mountain Storm”, of the 4th Division (Northern and Eastern Forts) of the Karameikan Armed Forces. The Battalion is under the command of the Castellan, Captain Porthos Garran, and is being increased to full strength to handle the non-human monsters in the area.

Within a few miles of the Keep are the Caves of Chaos, inhabited by all manner of evil creatures and an evil cult led by a powerful priest.

After testing two new adventurers in some wilderness confrontations, Lady Lissa Vorloi organises her party and four squadrons from the Keep to clean out the caves. In doing so, the party rescues six individuals from dungeons within the caves.

Lissa donates the major treasure to the Church of Karameikos.

Loshdain 20

Horror on the Hill

Arrive Guido’s Fort, 30 miles downriver from Castellan Keep, on the western shore of the Castellan River.

Guido’s Fort is being threatened by creatures coming from a large hill of caverns across the river. The party is in pursuit of the magical Knight of the Traldar, a jewelled statue and major magic item, stolen from the Church of Karameikos in Specularum.

After a number of encounters on the hill, the party goes underground to confront the thief. The thief turns out to be a blue dragon mage named Meyric, who stole the item to protect his kind. A red dragon mage turns up to take the item, initiating a fight with Meyric.

The party activates the Knight, who destroys the red dragon mage. Ludmilla prevents the Knight from destroying the wounded and exhausted Meyric, earning his gratitude.

The party returns to Guido’s Fort with the recovered Knight of the Traldar.

Lunadain 22

Down river from Guido’s Fort, across the Wufwold Hills to Penhaligon. The party returns the Knight of the Traldar to Aleksyev Nikelnevich, Patriarch of the Church of Traladara, at the castle of Lady Arteris Penhaligon.

Tserdain 24

Penhaligon to Threshold, overnight in Teranon’s villa.

Travelled to Verge, investigated Retameron’s Tower but no luck, camped in the stables overnight.

Skarda’s Mirror

Return to Threshold in pursuit of the evil magician Skarda, kidnapped and taken into his mirror and held in the dungeon. Escape with Retameron and Halia, organize a slave revolt and escape the mirror world.

Hunting lodge of Duke Stefan Karameikos III, 25 miles west of Specularum. Rescue Duke Stefan from Skarda.

Arrive in Specularum – the Mirror City.

Loshdain 13, Felmont (Mid Summer)

Discussions with Teldon and Meyric at Meyric’s cavern complex, Guido’s Fort. “Elendorath”.

Soladain 14

Travel to Verge. Spend two evenings and the intervening day with Retameron and Halia.

Gromdain 16

Travel to Rifllian. Meet with Chief Trader Prestelle and stay at the Silver Swan Inn, run by Stubbs Plattermann.

Tserdain 17

Meet Cassius Longinus, a fighter and ex-lieutenant of the Duke’s Guard, in the forest on the way to Master Arkayz. Meet an ‘elf’ named Genevieve (actually a woodrake) and rid her home of wood imps. Rescue Valen Karameikos from Iron Ring slavers (took prisoners). Meet a centaur called Aeneas, who guides the party to the Duke’s Road. At night, camped by the Duke’s Road, an apparition of Bargle appears and threatens the party.

Moldain 18

Journey south along the Duke’s Road to Specularum. Reach Krakatos ruins by nightfall and stay overnight. During the night visited by the Immortal Petra in a dream (incorporeal form, Lawful, Time – clerics must be Lawful or Neutral). Petra was a high level warrior-cleric, queen of Krakatos and Halav’s co-ruler.

Dream is of Krakatos alive with people as it was 2,000 years ago (not in ruins). The warrior queen gallops in with her forces after defeating gnollish attackers. Gathers the party to her great hall and amidst the celebrations tells them of the threat in their own time.

A magical and chaotic sword found by Ilyana Penhaligon once belonged to the warrior queen Elendorath. This warrior queen ruled the local lands in terror and misery hundreds of years in the past. The sword magically controls goblins and hobgoblins and the holder of the sword can converse with these creatures.

Bargle will release Elendorath, now a demon, on Karameikos. The Immortal Hel, enemy of Ka, the Preserver, is aiding Bargle indirectly. Hel is the Immortal sponsor of Elendorath and has supplied Bargle with the means to release Elendorath. Petra knows of an item on the Isle of Dread that will slay the demon. The party needs to sail there, recover the item and return to Karameikos and confront Bargle.

Nytdain 19

Continue the journey south to Specularum. Met by soldiers at the main gate on the Duke’s Road. Sergeant takes the party to his Lieutenant, who escorts them. All members of the party must tie all weapons, except daggers, to their sheaths with cloth ties. They are given some cloth ties by the Sergeant if they don’t have any.

The prisoners are held at the front gate until a troop unit arrives from the central guard tower to take them to the dungeons.

While passing through Radu territory the party is shot at by a hidden crossbowman, a supporter of the Radu family. He is a poor shot but quick to hide.

While passing the navy docks and shipbuilders the party can see all the ships of the Royal Navy in the harbour. There is the “Dmitrov”, the “Tatiana”, the “Irenescu”, the “Stefanov”, the “Ivanovich”, the “Ilyana”, the “Yakovski”, the “Sergeiev”, the “Anyavitch”, the “Fyodorski” and the “Ekaterina”.

At the Guardhouse of the City Guard Captain Mikel Karpov takes over from the main gate Lieutenant, who returns to the main gate. Mikel escorts the party through the Merchant District to the Duke’s Stronghold.

While passing through the Merchant District the party is approached by “Lord” Dmitrios, Prince of Beggars, who begs for coins and entertains the party. He does not follow them past the Grand Market, his base of operations.

At the gate of the Duke’s Stronghold, Captain Estaish of the Elvenguard and Captain Varis Korrigan of the Ducal Guard stop on their way out on business to speak to the party. Estaish is very keen to organise a troop to go after the Radu sniper, as he hates the Radu family intensely. He takes some of the Elvenguard and some of the City Guard, leaving for Radu territory with Mikel and some of Mikel’s troops.

Captain Varis Korrigan escorts the party to the Low Palace and to Lord Lucas Tormandros, the Townsmaster, then on to the Duke and Duchess in their throne room.

In the throne room Duchess Olivia is speaking with Adriana and Lady Marianita. Duke Stefan is speaking with Lord Korrigan, Admiral Hyraksos, Ambassador Schonberg and Ambassador Voll.

Isle of Dread

Party leaves for the Isle of Dread onboard the warship “Stefanov”. Sail to Ierendi, arriving Tserdain 24.
